Sully for Council
What a night! They were tornadoes, torrential downpour and electricity in the air. Lightning struck at the Salty Dog as some heavy hitters came to speak on behalf of my Council run fundraiser. As worried as I was about turnout due to inclement weather I knew my friends and family and supporters were of sterner stuff than to let some rain and dark clouds stop them from putting their faith in me as I will take on this establishment candidate. God bless them and to those who couldn't make it but promised to arrange events at their house.
Dan Halloran who is a standing City Councilman AND now presently running for Congress came out as busy as he is and gave a great speech that is included in this blog. Dan was a huge inspiration for me when I was covering his race a couple of years ago and I couldn't help but admire him and try and emulate him with my own Brooklyn spin on it. Well along with Dan there was "Barbara from Harlem" a famous radio host who is quite a pistol.
Along with some celebrities we had Mr. Michael Connors and his son Michael representing the business community. They have served Bay Ridge by representing the locals in the capacity of Estate and Probate Law under the name of Connors and Sullivan Attorneys at law. In addition to their legal practice they host a radio show on WOR called Ask the Lawyer on Saturdays.
Lastly the most loyal group you will ever have is family and friends. These are the people you live and die for who will lay down in traffic for you. To that group and all the others ...Get ready we are going to make some historic changes both locally and nationally. The country will see how the top Tax and Spend state will suddenly turn into one of the most hospitable to small business as it begins hiring people in waves giving the city the economic shot in the arm it's been craving. No more bowing at the alter of Political Correctness. I will be an example of Political Will In Action. Suddenly the awful slurs will mean nothing as the voters realize it's the Economy Baby and once you begin making fiscal gains all of the other problems become easily manageable. Get ready for the kid from Brooklyn who grew up to be the man who will make a difference and rock the establishment. Yeah I am not going to make a lot of friends but they'll be the right people who'll want me gone but I wont care as long as the voters want me here. God Bless we have a Helluva race coming up.
