To the pandering elected officials that represent the Bay Ridge area of Brooklyn: YOUR PATHETIC! In your attempts to foster sentiment that you actually care about the residents and small businesses of Bay Ridge by publicly slamming the Oxygen Network reality show “Brooklyn 11233″, you could be putting a nail in the coffin of the vitality of this once vibrant area. You compared this reality show to the movie “Saturday Night Fever” and all the damage it wreaked on the area. It’s no surprise that you are not aware of this, but that movie put Bay Ridge into the national spotlight. People from all over the country came to Bay Ridge to see where John Travolta danced, ate, strutted down the sidewalk in the opening credits and marveled at the majestic accomplishment of the Verrazano Bridge. One of our proudest structures ever built uniting us to our brother borough Staten Island forever.

It was the summer in the late 70′s, my friends and I were all giddy with excitement as we got to watch Vinny Barbarino cladded in polyester shoot baskets in the park under the bridge. In the background, one of my friends was playing handball and actually made it into the final cut of the movie. All of the pizzerias were now serving the “Saturday Night Fever” slice on on top of the other. As I was bussing tables at Circles Restaurant, I noticed that the line to get in was from the bus stop on 69th Street and wrapped around the corner onto 3rd Avenue. Even to this day the food at Circles is still my favorite food in the world and tastes the same after 30 years. The only thing different is the amount of people.

This Oxygen reality show could be exactly what the area needs. The PR generated by this has already begun to take effect. The buzz is being heard in all 5 boroughs. The interest in the area is starting to spike once again. How could a small business not want all this FREE publicity? Being a former owner of several businesses in the area, I know first hand the damage these politicians have wrought on the small businesses of Bay Ridge. As I look at both of your records, it is evident you have been living off of the blood and sweat of the good people in this district and have no experience in small business. Therefore, nothing to lose. As all these charming businesses struggle to keep their doors open, the politicians keep creating a more hostile and stifling environment.

Councilman Gentile stated “It’s crass and its rude – and when it comes to the women of Bay Ridge, the producers didn’t even get the zip code right.” I’m actually impressed that he knew the zip code and as far as knowing what the women of Bay Ridge think, that is one topic I would let the women themselves judge. Voters of Bay Ridge: Do not be fooled by these politicians and their attempt to inflame your sensibilities. In the world of business, there is no such thing as bad PR. Just look what the MTV show “Jersey Shore” did for NJ and all of the businesses that were featured. We could only hope for such an impact. Come 2013 – VOTE Sully for City Council because I do have a stake in the game.

Bay Ridge is done being the borough’s personal ATM machine.

The New York Times said “What”?! Foughheddiboutid!! Cheers and chants rang out as Congressman Mike Grimm pulled up in front of the New GOP Headquarters of Staten Island on Richmond Road. These loyal Islanders and fellow Brooklynites were no way going to allow the New York Times and their legion of progressives tar and feather their Boy Grimm with a bunch of allegations with little or no basis of fact or evidence. The common feeling amongst the group was ….you got something ? Show us something …not a load of conjecture or hearsay signed anonymous. This is the behavior of cowards and as such will not be tolerated by this electorate or by the Freshman Congressman,  Marine, FBI agent or by his 8 pound attack dog Sebastian- Street Name : Mugsy.

 What a turnout! Both electorate and public servants. Assembly Member Nicole Malliotakis who I always spell wrong …but not today, James Oddo of the City Council along with State SenatorLanza and the Godfather of the Conservative movement within the Staten Island community former Congressman and Borough President Guy Molinari. Mr. Molinari who may move slowly but speaks and thinks with the mental reflexes of Olympic boxer in his prime was clearly defending his adopted son Grimm. Regardless of his stature Mr. Molinari is quite formidable even at this later stage of his most decorated life and if I was the writer for the Times I would make sure of my sources before I dropped a bomb of this magnitude. Conclusion? Jaws Reference: ” We’re gonna need a bigger boat” Bigger indeed if you intend to take out this Great White Shark called Congressman Grimm.

The time is now and me and my team of blue collars, white collars and pink are all getting together for the goal of taking district 43′s Councilman seat presently held by Mr. Gentile.  I think it is time to send a message to the “Powers that Be” that we are no longer the governments personal ATM machine. We are done with these agencies stealing the hopes and dreams of fellow Brooklynites. No more picking at the bones of these hard working people I will not stand for it.

Remember that great commercial with the GM CEO Ed Whitacre strutting around a GM plant pea cocking his way into one of the Obama Administration’s biggest lies? You know the one where he states that everything is going great here at GM thanks to the government bailout and the cars are flying off the lots and the company has already paid back the loan in full with interest ahead of time?! Well sorry to pop that bubble but once again the public has been had.

If the government did not interfere with the bankruptcy of GM normal market forces would have sold off the profitable divisions and the others would of been scrapped and either streamlined or done away with entirely. Along with this process would have meant tens of thousands of jobs gone not permanently but transferred to other areas that have been upgraded to profitability. That is how the greatest system in the world works. It is survival of the fittest not the fattest.  This is why we have the highest quality of life -that is why everyone comes here to “Make It”. We are the benchmark for the entire planet. When you pick and choose winners I don’t care how much tax payer money the government steals from us it never pans out. Even when we supposedly made a profit during the bank bailouts it was Barney Frank who told the Obama Administration we can’t give the money back to the people or else they will want it back every time. We should transfer it to one of our entitlements. How typically liberal to be so generous with “Other Peoples Money”

What Big Ed neglected to tell the American people was that the money that was paid back was paid back with more Tax Payer Dollars. We initially gave GM 6.7 billion dollars at first at 7% interest which was a great rate then 60% of the equity of GM was transferred to the U.S. tax payer.( Did you guys get the interest on the dividends? No? me neither still waiting for my check) Now we are stuck bearing all the risk financially on this deal if GM doesn’t turn a profit and start to pay back its’ enormously mounting debt. But wait…we are talking about a government deal…logic and math has no place here at all. Instead lets loan GM more money so they can pay off the loan we gave them- yeah that’s the ticket and that’s exactly what they did. See how much fun it is playing government? Still there comes a time when the governmental pixy dust wears off and reality smacks you right in the wallet and in this case it does in the form of a ” Volt” Yup the green innovation of the future. This puppy is going to put us on the global market as the leaders of Non- Fossil Fuel Vehicle only one teeny little problem. People don’t like them. They don’t feel they have enough charging stations to actually travel a significant distance and the singular charge only gets you 25 miles or so and then you have to go back to gasoline. That and the exploding factor. Oh yeah forgot about that little tidbit. This lithium battery likes to go BOOM when you park it. LOL! Go figure. C’mon don’t worry I’m sure it clears the new CAFE standards that the Obama Administration is enforcing. Cars explode …so what?

OK enough with the satire Obama claiming he saved GM and all of those jobs AND paid back all the loans is nothing more than one lie after another. He took OUR MONEY and used it to extend the life of a company that was selected by the Free Market to either fall or be redesigned and propped up this mutation that we are now seeing the full damage of.  The way this Administration lies and has total disregard for the Constitution is disgraceful. Everything from the Health Care Nightmare to the Financial “Dodd Frank” Bill named after the crooks who brought us the collapse of Home Ownership to prosecuting the CIA agents who handed him Bin Laden’s head on a plate you sir are a divisive failure of a leader and need to step down before you cause any more damage to the greatest nation the planet has ever had.
